Concept Statement: BZ Haus, which is a supportive housing complex for Veterans, will have an overall feeling of healing, camaraderie, and calmness. With natural greens and blues, soft whites, warm wood, and caramelly leather throughout the space, it is hard to not have a sense of peace when walking through the different rooms. This color palette is carried throughout every space, but all the rooms have a specific purpose of either creating community or promoting wellness. There is a community kitchen and outdoor barbeque for enjoying a home cooked meal as a group, a library for researching local job openings or participating in a book club discussion, and a mental health center for support group sessions or an individual meeting with a professional therapist. Those are just a few of the spaces, but within this easy to navigate open floor plan, there is sure to be a space for everyone to enjoy. BZ Haus’ design ensures that every Veteran who resides there will feel right at home.
